Siapakah YESUS Dihadapan Saya?Apakah Saya Telah Sungguh Mengenalnya?

Hari ini tanggal 2 April 2010 hari dimana seluruh umat krisitiani dunia termasuk saya merayakan hari raya Jumat Agung (Good Friday), atau yang biasa dikenal dengan hari wafatnya Yesus Kristus Sang Mesias dari Nazareth. Sungguh satu momentum yang sangat bersejarah dalam catatan kehidupan umat manusia. Maka menjelang masa perayaan paskah. Inilah proses kontemplasi dalam diri yang saya lakukan beberarapa pekan belakangan, sebelum saya kembali mengingat pengorbananNya yang begitu luar biasa. Dalam menebus segala dosa dan kesalahan kita selaku umat kesayanganNya dimuka bumi ini.

Tulisan ini sengaja saya buat sebagai bentuk ungkapan rasa syukur sekaligus pengakuan terdasar atas ketidakjujuran saya yang tidak sungguh-sungguh didalamNya. Saya engga perlu malu untuk mengakuinya, karena saya pikir ini bukanlah aib yang harus ditutup-tutupi sedemikian rapatnya. Tapi inilah realitas kamuflase yang saya lakukan dihadapanNya.

Dalam konteks ini saya tidak mau menyalahkan teman,lingkungan atau siapapun disekitar saya.Karena memang gaada hak saya sedikitpun untuk melakukan itu. Saya berpikir jauh lebih baik saya menarik diri kedalam. Sebab itu justru akan menggugah saya untuk berusaha menjadi pribadi yang lebih baik dari sebelumnya.

Ya. Inilah yang saya rasakan malu bercampur kesal,kecewa,marah dan benci pada diri sendiri itu kerapkali hadir ketika malam hendak berganti menjemput pagi.Entah mengapa kesadaran itu datang menghampiri saya, seolah memaksa saya agar lekas melakukan evolusi internal. Tunggu apalagi?sampai kapan?kalimat itulah yang terus menyala dan berputar di memori pendengaran saya.

Batin ini terus bertengkar seakan tak pernah mau berdamai.Satu sisi saya ingin menjadi lebih baik dalam segala hal tapi di sisi lain saya belum siap untuk menanggalkan kebiasaan ‘enak’ yang selama ini saya nikmati. Memang untuk mendapatkan sesuatu yang jauh lebih baik dalam hidup butuh pengorbanan. Jelas ada harga yang harus dibayar!Bak biji logam yang siap ditempa dan dibakar hingga menjadi emas murni yang berkilau.

Tadinya saya pikir untuk menjadi lebih baik bukanlah hal yang mudah bukan juga hal yang sulit. Persoalannya Cuma butuh komitmen serius yang mengikat didalamnya. Mudah memang kelihatannya tapi itu ternyata hanya di bibir saja. Sebab selebihnya ditengah perjalanannya, kembali lagi banyak sekali kebiasaan ‘enak’ yang tidak mungkin rela untuk saya lepaskan dalam sekejap. Roh memang penurut tetapi daging lemah. Sungguh saya jenuh dan lelah terus berada dalam kubangan ‘permainan’ hidup seperti ini yang entah sampai kapan berakhirnya?

Oleh karenanya sebagai wujud interpretasi atas pembenaran dalam diri. Seringkali membuat saya berasumsi kalau Tuhan itu pasti tahu dan maklum adanya terhadap semua yang saya lakukan tanpa saya mau peduli apa isi hati DIA yang sesungguhnya. Tepat sekali. Tuhan memang terlalu banyak tahu dan memaklumi persoalan saya. Namun yang menjadi garis besarnya adalah. Apakah saya pernah mau tahu atas apa yang Tuhan mau dari saya? Dititik ini saya merasa terlalu egois, terlalu banyak menuntut dan terlalu banyak complain!

Sadar atau engga sadar seolah-olah Tuhan itu bagaikan anak buah saya yang harus selalu siap saya suruh kapanpun saya mau. Bukan hanya itu terkadang Tuhan pun saya ibaratkan seperti ‘ahli magic’ yang juga harus selalu siap untuk memenuhi semua permintaan saya. DIA memang siap memenuhi semua permintaan saya. Bahkan mudah sekali bagiNya untuk melakukannya kapanpun DIA mau. Persoalannya apakah saya siap mengikuti dan menerima segala aturan main yang DIA terapkan tanpa saya harus bersungut-sungut?

Lantas kalau sudah begini keadaannya. Siapakah Yesus sesungguhnya dihadapan saya?Bapa-kah?Raja-kah?Juruselamat-kah?atau DIA hanya saya anggap tak lebih dari sekedar atribut rangkaian kata saat saya memuji dan menyembahNya. Mulut saya memuji tapi juga mencaci.Saya mengenal ajaran kasihnya tapi saya dingin menyikapinya. Saya memahami hukum kasihnya tapi saya cacat mengaplikasikannya!Karena saya masih terjebak dengan logika duniawi. Apakah kasih Tuhan memerlukan logika?

Menyadari semuanya itu. Masih pantaskah jikalau saya bersikeras mengatakan kalau saya mengenal DIA dengan seutuhnya?persis seperti DIA mengenal saya! Puluhan tahun saya hidup dalam protokoler kekristenan. Namun entah mengapa tak sedikitpun karakter ABBA melekat di jiwa dan raga saya. Ini yang membuat saya malu,bingung dan engga tahu harus berbuat apalagi.”Plase…help me GOD”! lepaskan saya dari panasnya cengkraman kebingungan ini. Lagi-lagi batin ini terus bertanya dan bercermin sampai sejauh manakah saya mengenal DIA?

Andai saja Tuhan mau mempertanyakan semua itu sama saya. Maka tidak ada waktu,alasan dan kesempatan untuk saya berdalih. Karena apapun argumen saya nantinya jelas semuanya pasti terpatahkan!Tapi itulah Yesus Tuhan yang saya sembah. DIA bukanlah Allah yang picik melainkan pribadi yang teramat sangat bijaksana. Kendati saya telak kedapatan bersalah tapi tak sedikitpun DIA tunjukkan hak arogansinya. Kalau saja DIA mau menghukum saya. Tentu itu bisa saja dilakukanNya kapanpun DIA mau.

Kalaupun saya layak dihukum sebenarnya hukuman seperti apa yang pantas diberikan sama saya? Namun Yesus tidak melakukannya, semua itu karena sikap ke-BapaanNya yang jauh lebih mengampuni.

Namun inilah bukti dari kebesaraanNya. YESUS bukanlah pribadi yang senang menghukum melainkan GURU yang senang mengajar. Melalui ajaranNya DIA dapat memastikan segala karakter bisa diubahkan seturut kehendakNya. Persoalannya apakah saya mau diubahkan seturut kehendakNya?

Bahkan dengan kebesaran hatiNya DIA malah membuka kedua tanganNya dan berkata “kemarilah anakKu. Aku menati-nantikan dan merindukan engkau kembali padaKu” Dengar, betapa DIA menanti-nantikan kedatangan saya untuk kembali kehadapanNya. Bukankah perkataan demikian yang selalu diucapkanNya saat DIA merasa kehilangan domba-dombaNya?

Saya yakin betul Bapa pasti berkata demikian pada setiap anak-anaknya yang berpaling dari hadapanNya. Saya sadar sejauh apapun saya coba berpaling dariNya dan tak mengindahkanNya. Satu waktu saya pasti akan kembali padaNYa dan membutuhkan pertolonganNya. Memangnya saya ini siapa?sekuat apakah saya menghadapi masalah jikalau tanpa bantuanNya?

Menyaksikan kebesaran,kesabaran dan ketulusanNya yang demikian luar biasa itu. Justru membuat batin saya terusik mengundang tanya. Apakah Tuhan itu lebih banyak tersenyum atau menangis ketika melihat sikap,hati dan pikiran saya yang sulit dimengerti ini?. Sungguh saya tidak bisa membayangkan akibat dari ulah saya yang terkadang kekanak-kanakan, seringkali membuat Tuhan meneteskan air mataNya ketimbang DIA mengembangkan senyum dibibirNya. Ini artinya DIA bersedih! karena saya kerapkali meragukanNya. Secara tidak langsung sayapun menganggap hal tersebut bagai ‘menggadaikanNya’ hanya untuk melampiaskan keegoisan saya semata.

Saat ini saya Cuma mau mengatakan betapa munafiknya saya dihadapan Tuhan. Andai saja Tuhan mau bermaksud menelanjangi segala bentuk perangai kebohongan saya …ohhh betapa malu dan tak berdayanya saya. Menyesal sungguh bukanlah penyesalan yang harus disesali. Sebab bukan penyesalan juga yang DIA inginkan dari saya. Tetapi komitmen untuk mau berubah dan dibentuk seturut kehendakNya. Sederhana saja bukan?

Siapa saya?saya bukanlah siapa-siapa. Kalau bukan karena DIA tidak akan mungkin saya ada sebagaimana saya ada hingga detik ini. Sekalipun Tuhan buat saya kecukupan sampai saat ini, Kembali lagi itu bukan karena kuat dan gagah saya. Namun karena semuanya tidak terlepas dari campur tangan dan kasih karuniaNya yang tak lekang oleh waktu.

Di hari Jumat Agung yang indah ini. Entah mengapa batin ini berteriak tanpa bisa dibungkam lagi. Mungkin karena saya merasa saat ini adalah waktu yang tepat untuk saya memohon maaf pada semua teman-teman. Jikalau tanpa sadar seringkali saya menabur benih permusuhan dihadapan teman-teman. Sehingga membuat teman-teman jadi membenci bahkan memusuhi saya. Sungguh engga ada maksud saya sedikitpun untuk melukai perasaan teman-teman! Saya mengasihi teman-teman semua sama seperti saya mengasihi diri sendiri.

Sekali lagi maaf sebelumnya. Tidak ada maksud saya dalam tulisan ini untuk menggurui. Ini hanyalah bagian dari proses pembenahan dalam diri yang coba saya lakukan untuk menjadi pribadi yang lebih sadar diri. Yang jelas saya hanya ingin menyampaikan dimanapun teman-teman berada saat ini, karena saya juga tidak tahu problema dan pergumulan seperti apa yang sedang teman-teman hadapi sekarang?Apakah sama seperti yang saya alami juga?atau bahkan jauh lebih berat daripada yang saya alami?

Tapi apapun bentuk persoalan,pergumulan dan berapapun beratnya itu. Percayalah ditengah kesulitan dan kondisi hidup yang seringkali terasa sangat menekan. Selagi kita berjalan bersama DIA tentu masih ada harapan untuk meraih janjiNya.Bahkan selagi kita punya Tuhan seperti Yesus tak akan pernah DIA biarkan kita sampai jatuh tersungkur. DIA pasti segera menjulurkan tanganNya dan mengangkat kita dari keterpurukan. Sekalipun itu diijinkanNya terjadi pastilah ada maksud dan rencana yang luar biasa untuk setiap kita. Setidaknya mendidik kita supaya menjadi pribadi yang lebih dewasa secara tubuh Rohani.

Sebab ada kekuatan yang berbicara jauh diluar kemampuan setiap kita. Jadi engga ada alasan buat kita kecewa,marah,cengeng,menyerah dan putus asa. Life is Taft. Maju terus jangan pernah menyerah bahkan sampai keadaan terburuk sekalipun. Sebab hidup dan masa depan kita sudah ada yang Menjamin jauh melebihi garansi yang ditawarkan dunia ini. Saya terlalu percaya apa yang terjadi dalam kehidupan ini bukanlah suatu kebetulan. Melainkan ada makna tersirat yang sudah tersurat olehNya.

Percayalah Yesus itu pribadi yang sangat baik dan jangan pernah berhenti berharap padaNya. Nyata sudah melalui tubuh dan darahNya yang terpecah diatas kayu salib. DIA membuktikan pada kita semua betapa DIA begitu mengasihi,mencintai dan menerima kita apa adanya. Jadi jangan pernah sia-siakan ketulusan,cinta dan pengorbananNya. Sebab kematianNya bukanlah momentum ritual tahunan yang tidak semestinya kita rayakan tanpa makna.

DIA mati untuk kita DIA bangkit untuk kita! Ini yang membuat betapa saya begitu bangga dan kagum punya Tuhan,Allah,Bapa,Raja,Juruselamat dan Sahabat seperti YESUS. Sebab tidak ada pribadi yang seperti DIA.Amin

Ari Bernardus Lasso

Berjanji Menjauhi Narkoba di Depan Sang Bunda yang Sedang Meregang Nyawa

Hidup dalam keluarga yang religius dan harmonis ternyata tidak menjadikan jaminan bahwa seseorang bisa terhindar dari yang namanya pengaruh buruk seperti narkoba. Inilah yang terjadi pada seorang mantan vokalis grup band Dewa, Ari Lasso. Proteksi kerohaniannya jeblos manakala dirinya mulai berkenalan dengan indahnya fantasi narkoba. Bagaimana Ari bisa terjebak dalam kelamnya hidup yang mematikan tersebut?

“Masuk saja langsung ke dalam mas, sudah ditunggu sama bapak di dalam,” teriak salah seorang pembantu rumah tangga menyambut kedatangan Realita ketika menyambangi kediaman Ari Lasso. Rumah yang berada di Jl. Camar kawasan Bintaro sektor 3 itu begitu rindang dan asri. Gemericik air kolam renang terdengar, sementara hembusan semilir angin sepoi-sepoi dari teras luar terasa begitu menusuk sampai ke dalam pori-pori kulit.

Memasuki ruang tamu dengan sorot cahaya minimalis, ukiran kayu salib begitu terpampang jelas. Sementara di sudut kiri ada deretan buku bacaan tertata dengan rapi dalam lemari. Duduk di atas sofa berwarna cokelat tua sambil mengenakan kacamata dibalut dengan perpaduan t-shirt dan jeans, Ari sore itu baru saja usai melakukan proses recording untuk beberapa lagu baru yang akan tersaji dalam album The Best Ari Lasso. Di tengah kesibukannya mempersiapkan album, Ari tetap menyempatkan diri untuk menyalurkan hobinya bermain futsal di Pondok Indah 2. Sebelum bermain futsal, Pria kelahiran Madiun 17 Januari 1973 ini bersedia berbagi cerita pada Realita seputar perjalanan hidupnya yang tujuh tahun lamanya sempat tersandung dengan nikmatnya buaian narkoba.

Pemilik nama lengkap Ari Bernardus Lasso atau yang kerap disapa dengan Ari Lasso ini terlahir sebagai anak bungsu dari lima bersaudara dari pasangan Bartholomeus Bernard Lasso dan almh. Srie Noerhida.

Bartolomeus Bernard Lasso sang ayah, ketika itu bekerja sebagai salah satu staf Perum Perhutani di Kabupaten Ngawi, Jawa Timur. Ia membawahi sekitar 60 orang pegawai, termasuk lima resort polisi kehutanan. Tugasnya sendiri adalah mengamankan ratusan hektar hutan di Jawa Timur.

Sang ayah yang pada waktu itu adalah sebagai salah seorang pejabat Perum Perhutani Jawa Timur, membuat Ari bersama keempat kakaknya, Prinanti Hanifa, Dwindata Femdika, Trioni Alfianus (Onny), dan Niken Kristiana, hidup dalam keadaan yang bahagia dan berkecukupan. Sebagai anak bungsu, wajar jikalau Ari kecil kala itu termasuk anak yang dimanja oleh kedua orang tuanya.

Juara Kelas. Profesi sang ayah sebagai orang penting di Perum Perhutani kala itu, membuat Ari kerap berpindah-pindah sekolah dikarenakan sang ayah seringkali berpindah tugas. Bayangkan saja, semenjak memasuki masa Sekolah Dasar, Ari sampai harus tiga kali berpindah sekolah di tiga kota. Mulai dari SD Saragen 1 Madiun, kemudian berpindah ke SD Kadipaten 2 di kota Bojonegoro, selama 1,5 tahun dan yang terakhir ketika naik kelas enam SD, Ari masuk ke SD Kucang Jajar di Surabaya. Sejak saat itu pula sampai memasuki perguruan tinggi, Ari menetap di Kota Pahlawan Surabaya. Lulus sekolah dasar, Ari melanjutkan ke SMPN 12 Surabaya yang merupakan salah satu SMP favorit di Surabaya dan menjadi salah satu lulusan terbaik.

Setelah lulus dari SMP, Ari melanjutkan ke SMA 2 Surabaya, yang dikenal sebagai tempat ngumpulnya anak-anak band Surabaya. Dari situlah Ari mulai mengenal dunia musik. Lulus SMA melanjutkan kuliahnya ke Universitas yang cukup kesohor di kota Surabaya yaitu Universitas Airlangga.

Sejak kecil tubuh Ari memang terlihat tambun. Kendati berbobot lebih, Ari kecil tidaklah seperti orang gemuk lainnya yang kesulitan dalam melakukan gerak tubuh dan cenderung malas dan suka tidur. Sebaliknya, Ari kecil sangatlah cekatan dalam bergerak, ini terbukti dengan ia senang berolahraga sepak bola.

Dan meski tergolong anak yang cukup nakal dan tak bisa diatur, dibandingkan keempat kakaknya yang bersikap manis dan patuh pada orang tua, namun ada satu kebanggaan dalam dirinya, karena ia lebih pintar dari kakak-kakaknya. Terbukti sejak duduk di bangku SD sampai SMP, Ari selalu menjadi juara kelas. Prestasi akademiknya menemptan ia selalu masuk dalam tiga besar.

Gila Bola dan Buku. Sejak kanak-kanak, kecerdasan Ari memang sudah kelihatan menonjol. Terlihat dari gaya bicara, dan sikap kritisnya, apalagi ketika Ari mulai bisa membaca. Ari terbilang menjadi anak yang maniak dengan buku bacaan. Bahkan uang jajannya sendiripun dikumpulkan hanya untuk membeli buku bacaan kesenangannya. Sebut saja seperti buku cerita dan komik Pendekar dari Bukit Manoreh, Petualangan Dr. Karl May, Sabuk Intan, Rin Tin Tin, dan masih banyak lagi yang lainnya. Bahkan ketika duduk di kelas 4 SD, Ari sudah mempunyai perpustakaan kecil sendiri. Tak jarang koleksi bukunya ia sewakan, dan uang sewanya digunakan untuk membeli buku lainnya. Kegemaran Ari dalam membaca buku itu, terbawa hingga sekarang.

Tidak hanya gila buku, Ari kecil juga gila bola. Kesukaannya bermain sepak bola membuatnya menjadi hapal di luar kepala segala seluk belum olahraga sepak bola dunia. Ia sangat hafal nama pemain, dan klub-klub sepak bola terkemuka dunia. Tak hanya itu ia sampai hafal jadwal pertandingan sepak bola dunia.

Selain menonton, pengetahuan sepak bola juga didapatkannya dari seringnya ia membaca koran langganan sang ayah. Akibat dari keranjingan sepakbola, Ari pun sempat mengajak teman-temannya membentuk sebuah klub sepak bola. Sebagai leader dari tim sepak bola, Ari juga kerap kali turun langsung untuk menghimpun dana dari kalangan pejabat Perhutani guna mendapatkan biaya operasional.

Mulai Nge-band. Seiring dengan berjalannya waktu, Ari yang tadinya hanya hobi bermain sepak bola, mulai merambah ke dunia musik dan travelling. Semuanya itu baru bisa terealisasi ketika Ari sudah duduk di bangku SMA 2 di Surabaya. Selain menganggap dirinya sudah dewasa, Ari juga baru mendapatkan ijin dari orang tua walaupun belum sepenuhnya. Ketika masuk SMA 2 Surabaya, Ari banyak bertemu teman yang juga hobi bermain musik seperti Ahmad Dhani, Andra, Erwin, Wawan, dan Piyu (gitaris padi, red).

Diakui Ari, pada masa itu kemampuan Ahmad Dhani (sekarang motoris grup band Dewa, red) dalam bermusik memang tak perlu diragukan. Bahkan Dhani menjadi salah satu pemuda yang mempunyai bakat musik yang luar biasa di kota Surabaya.

Di SMA 2 inilah, Ari banyak mencurahkan seluruh perhatiannya untuk menggeluti musik lebih dalam lagi. Perlahan tapi pasti jalannya berkarir di musik mulai terbuka ketika Ari untuk pertama kali membentuk grup band yang diberi nama Outsiders, beranggotakan Ari, Piyu, dan Wawan. Namun sayang Outsiders tidak bertahan lama. ”Seingat saya Outsiders hanya dua kali manggung, di SMA, dan satu kali festival band di Surabaya. Habis itu kita langsung bubar,” ujar Ari. Tak lama berselang, Ari kembali bergabung dengan Los Angeles Band, sebuah band beraliran rock yang diprediksi menjadi band besar seperti Boomerang. Namun sayang karena satu dan lain hal, band tersebut harus kandas di tengah jalan sebelum menemukan tampuk kejayaannya.

Keterlibatan Ari dalam aktivitas nge-band, membuat kontroversi yang tajam dengan kedua orang tuanya. Rutinitas Ari yang tadinya tertata rapi, krmudian berubah menjadi berantakan. Tentu saja semuanya menenggelamkan impian kedua orang tuanya yang berharap Ari bisa sukses bukan dari jalur band yang serba tak pasti, melainkan dari jalur akademik formal sesuai dengan kemampuan akademik yang dimiliki Ari sebelumnya.

Namun persepsi kedua orang tuanya itu ditepis jauh-jauh oleh Ari, kalau musik bukan seperti apa yang dipikirkan kedua orang tuanya. Selama di SMA prestasi akademik Ari memang jauh lebih melorot, tetapi Ari membuktikannya ketika hari-hari menjelang ujian akhir, selama seminggu lamanya Ari melepaskan diri dari aktivitas bermusiknya hanya untuk fokus pada ujian. Terbukti Ari memang anak yang brilian. Hanya dalam waktu satu minggu belajar, Ari mampu membuktikan kemampuan akademiknya. Ari lulus dengan angka yang memuaskan. Ari juga berhasil menembus UMPTN, masuk di Fakultas Ekonomi Universitas Airlangga. ”Paling nggak saya bisa memberikan kepuasan pada orang tua karena saya bisa masuk universitas negeri, seperti yang mereka harapkan,” tandas Ari.

Sejak tahun 1991, Ari tercatat sebagai salah satu mahasiswa Fakultas Ekonomi di Universitas Airlangga. Di satu sisi Ari memang bisa menyenangkan kedua orang tuanya karena masuk universitas negeri seperti harapan orang tua pada umumnya. Namun sayang, kesempatan itu tidak digunakan Ari dengan sebaik mungkin. Lagi-lagi karena pikirannya jauh lebih terkuras untuk memikirkan soal musik ketimbang konsentrasi belajar.

Sekitar tahun 1994, Ari mulai meninggalkan kuliahnya. Lagi-lagi Ari berdalih kalau semua ini adalah pilihan hidup. ”Saya berpikir waktu itu kalau lulus kuliah nanti palingan dapat kerja yang begitu-gitu saja. Tapi saya sangat yakin ada sesuatu yang lebih dalam bermusik jikalau dikerjakan dengan sungguh-sungguh,” tambah Ari.

Bergabung dengan Dewa 19. Setahun sebelum kuliah, tepatnya semenjak kelas dua SMA, Ari memang sudah bergaul dengan Ahmad Dhani. Dhani yang menjadi motor down beat band kala itu, tengah mempunyai rencana untuk mengubah format bandnya sekaligus mengubah namanya menjadi Dewa 19.

Dhani yang tadinya tidak begitu suka dengan suara Ari lantaran aliran musik antara Ari dan Dhani berbeda, seketika menjadi suka ketika Dhani mendengarkan Ari membawakan lagu dari grup Chicago, Hard to Say I’m Sorry. Sejak itu Dhani memutuskan untuk mengajak Ari bergabung dengan Dewa 19.

Selang setahun kemudian, lahirlah album perdana milik Dewa 19 bertajuk Ku Kan Datang dengan salah satu hitsnya ”Kangen” yang sampai saat ini juga masih akrab di telinga para pecinta musik Indonesia. Perjuangan Ari bersama Dewa 19 memang tidak begitu menemui hambatan berarti karena ketika album perdana mereka dilempar ke pasar, animo masyarakat waktu itu langsung memberikan respon yang luar biasa. Album perdana mereka berhasil menembus angka penjualan sampai 400.000 keping. Angka penjualan yang fantastis itu membuat Ari cs mendapatkan penghargaan BASF AWARD sebagai album terlaris.

Setahun berikutnya, sekitar tahun 1992, Dewa kembali meluncurkan album kedua bertajuk Format Masa Depan. Album kedua juga tak kalah fenomenal dengan album yang pertama. Ratusan ribu copy laku terjual bak kacang goreng. Keadaan ini tak berubah sampai album yang berikutnya. Antusias masyarakat yang begitu dahsyat, otomatis membuat para personel Dewa pun, ikut menjadi public figure yang tersohor hingga seantero negeri.

Tidak hanya itu, pundi-pundi perekonomian Ari pun juga ikut terisi hingga menjulang tinggi. Ari telah menjadi salah seorang penyanyi di negeri ini yang cukup diperhitungkan dan mempunyai banyak massa.

Dibalik kesuksesan Ari, bila bicara soal bakat menyanyi, bisa dibilang bakat menyanyi Ari tercipta lantaran darah seni yang melekat pada diri sang ibu. Menurut Ari, ibunya memang seorang anak yang berasal dari keluarga yang mencintai seni. Bahkan sang ibu juga kerap ditodong menyanyi manakala ada satu perhelatan di kantor ayahnya di Perum Perhutani.

Kecanduan Narkoba. Kesuksesan Ari dalam bermusik ternyata tidak seiring sejalan dengan kisah hidupnya yang pernah terjerumus dalam lingkaran narkoba yang sangat menyesatkan. Pergaulannya yang kelewat batas dan tak lagi bisa dikontrol oleh orang tua, sedikit demi sedikit membawa Ari dalam satu dimensi kenistaan. Coba-coba dan perasaan ingin tahu, itulah alasan yang keluar dari mulut bapak tiga anak ini, ketika ditanya kali pertama menggunakan narkoba. Semua diawali ketika Ari mulai duduk di bangku SMA dimana Ari mulai memberanikan diri untuk mencoba minum-minuman keras bersama teman-temannya.

Sejauh itu, Ari merasa kalau ia masih bisa mengendalikan diri dan emosinya. Setidaknya, Ari yakin kalau ia bisa memproteksi diri untuk tidak sampai kecanduan. Kendati dilahirkan dalam satu lingkungan keluarga Kristiani yang cukup religius, tidak menjadi jaminan kalau seseorang bisa selamat dari bahaya narkoba. Lemahnya proteksi diri membuahkan malapetaka berkepanjangan. Merasa sudah terbiasa mabuk, Ari mengiyakan saja ketika ditawari untuk mencicipi putaw oleh salah seorang temannya. Putaw juga yang membuat pribadi Ari menjadi berubah sehingga senang menyendiri.

Beberapa bulan kemudian, barulah Ari sadar, kalau dirinya sudah termasuk sebagai orang yang kecanduan berat. Kebiasaan ini pun semakin terlihat jelas manakala Ari sedang tidak mengkonsumsi barang haram tersebut. Mendadak sekujur tubuhnya menjadi sakit dan sulit sekali tidur.

Seiring dengan berjalannya waktu, tanpa disadari, Ari semakin asyik dengan dunia hitamnya tersebut. Berbagai jenis narkoba pernah dicobanya. Mulai dari pil, minuman keras, sampai kepada yang dihisap, semua menghampiri tubuhnya yang dulu tambun dan tak bernoda itu. Bisa dikatakan, putaw menjadi konsumsi sehari-harinya selama tujuh tahun. Semuanya seakan terlupakan begitu saja, Ari pun tak mengetahui kalau tanggung jawabnya bersama band sudah menanti dibelakangnya untuk penggarapan album berikutnya. Meski awalnya serbuk putaw bisa memacu adrenalinnya saat di panggung maupun di studio rekaman, perlahan-lahan barang laknat itu mulai memperlihatkan wajah aslinya. Selain tubuh dan batinnya yang makin rusak dan keropos, sikap profesionalnya dalam bermusik pun kian hancur.

Persediaan lumbung uang yang lebih dari cukup, membuat Ari menjadi gelap mata. Semua yang didapatkannya dari hasil nge-band dihabiskan begitu saja dalam sekejap hanya untuk mendapatkan kenikmatan sesaat. Bisa dibayangkan berbagai harta seperti mobil dan rumah yang sempat dicicilnya, belum lagi barang-barang elektronik miliknya, semua habis terjual.

Kondisi Ari yang semakin tidak menentu tentu saja membuat Dhani sebagai motor Dewa sangat kecewa. Semua jadwal manggung dan rekaman seketika jadi berantakan lantaran sikap Ari yang tidak lagi profesional dalam bekerja dan sangat tidak menghargai waktu. Melihat sikap Ari yang seperti itu, membuat Dhani mengambil keputusan untuk mengeluarkan Ari dari formasi Dewa 19 di tahun 1997.

Sayangnya, tidak ada satu orang pun yang bisa mengubah kelakuan Ari atas kecanduannya pada narkoba. Kesadaran Ari mulai muncul manakala melihat sang ibu yang sangat disayanginya terbaring tak berdaya karena sudah beberapa hari mengalami koma. Kedua tangannya erat memeluk sang bunda pertanda cinta dan sayang terhadap ibunya yang sudah merawat dan membesarkannya dengan penuh kasih sayang. Tak berapa lama, cucuran air mata pun terasa tak terbendung, keluar dari kedua kelopak mata Ari. Saat itu hati Ari bagai hancur berkeping-keping.

Dengan suara terbata-bata, Ari pun berjanji di hadapan sang ibu yang sedang meregang nyawa untuk terlepas dari kebiasaan buruknya tersebut. Srie, ibunda Ari, akhirnya harus menyerah setelah hampir dua tahun lamanya berjuang melawan serangan kanker payudara. Dan akhirnya di usianya yang ke 63 tahun atau tepatnya tahun 2000, Srie dipanggil Yang Maha Kuasa, untuk kembali ke hadapan-Nya.

Bagi Ari, detik-detik kepergian ibunya tersebut merupakan satu waktu penentuan atas pernyataan sikapnya. Apakah akan hidup terus dan menjadi penyanyi seperti yang diimpikannya sejak kecil? Atau mati sia-sia dengan sisa noda bubuk haram ditubuhnya? ”Yang jelas kematian ibu membuat saya berpikir lebih jauh untuk saya bertaubat dan kembali ke jalan yang benar. Pernah Mencoba Bunuh Diri

Kuliah kandas di tengah jalan, ditendang dari Dewa, jatuh miskin, dan kembali menjadi beban orang tua, itulah kondisi Ari di tahun 1997. Semua yang dicita-citakan sejak lama, amblas seketika. Ari yang semula merupakan anak yang cerdas dan periang, sesaat berubah menjadi pribadi yang tidak mempunyai pengharapan dan masa depan. Semuanya sudah habis dimakan narkoba. Bukan hanya itu saja, kehadiran Ari yang tadinya dianggap sebagai bungsu paling disayang, sesaat juga berubah. Kehadiran Ari tak lagi dinantikan dalam keluarga. Saat itu tidak ada satupun teman atau keluarga yang mau perduli dengan keadaannya. Wajar rasanya jika Ari mendapat balasan perlakuan yang demikian. Ini semua lantaran kelakuan Ari yang sudah kelewat batas. Kala itu juga, Ari merasa sebagai jalan keluar satu-satunya adalah dengan bunuh diri!

Kondisi putus asa dan gelap mata itu terjadi ketika suatu hari berbagai beban kehidupan terasa terus menderanya secara serentak tanpa pernah berkesudahan. Membuat pikirannya pun kacau. Kepala terasa mau pecah, semua bercampur menjadi satu. Malam itu Ari memang seorang diri di rumah. Kedua orang tuanya sedang pergi ke luar kota. Tekad Ari untuk meninggalkan dunia fana ini sudah bulat.

Saat itu Ari tidak hanya menyuntikkan heroin saja ke dalam tubuhnya, Ari juga menenggak sebotol minuman keras berkadar alkohol tinggi dicampur dengan puluhan butir pil. Mungkin dengan cara demikian Ari menganggap kalau ia bisa terlepas dari segala permasalahan hidup yang sempat menghimpitnya. Bahkan Ari beranggapan dirinya akan pergi dengan cara yang sangat instan dan nikmat sekali. Dengan tertidur pulas, baru setelah itu ia pergi untuk selamanya. ”Saya pikir waktu itu dengan begini saya bisa menyelesaikan masalah. Ternyata Tuhan punya kehendak lain atas diri saya,” terang Ari.

Keinginan Ari untuk menghabisi dirinya tak berhasil. Ritual kematian yang dilakukannya pada Senin dini hari tersebut berakhir pada hari berikutnya. Secara perlahan Ari mulai terbangun dari tidur panjangnya. Matanya mulai sedikit terbuka mengamati sekelilingnya. Ari pun baru tersadar kalau usaha bunuh dirinya tersebut gagal. Gilbert

Sempat Ditentang Calon Mertua karena Pecandu

Bisa terbebas dari jerat narkoba diakui Ari juga tidak terlepas dari dukungan sang istri, Vitta Dessy. Vitta yang dulu adalah adik kelas Ari di Universitas Airlangga, dinikahinya sejak Februari 1999 di Surabaya. Awalnya, tentu saja Ari tidak mendapat restu dari sang calon mertua. Selain karena pecandu narkoba, Ari pun berbeda keyakinan dengan sang istri.

Namun cinta mengalahkan segalanya. Vitta tak lagi mendengarkan apa kata orang tuanya dan lebih memilih suara hatinya, dengan menerima Ari apa adanya. Vitta sendiri awalnya tidak tahu kalau Ari pecandu narkoba. Namun lama kelamaan sikap Ari menunjukkan sikap seorang pecandu. Karena sudah terlanjur cinta, Vitta pun tak terlalu mempermasalahkan soal kebiasaan buruk Ari tersebut.

”Lagi-lagi saya merasa kalau Tuhan itu amat menyayangi saya. Selain saya diberikan kesempatan untuk menata hidup kembali. Tuhan juga memberikan pendamping hidup yang sangat luar biasa karena disaat orang menjauhi saya, justru Vittalah yang sangat berperan atas penataan hidup saya. Dia memberikan spirit baru buat saya,” ujar Ari. ”Kini kami pun telah dikaruniai tiga orang anak, Aura Anandari (8) yang bersekolah di SD Penabur, Audra (4) dan Abraham (2,5) yang bersekolah di Tunas Indonesia,” tambahnya.
